Does Fradar always track my location?
No. Your position is shared only while you're inside an active group, and only with your consent. Outside a session there is no sharing at all — and you can stop it at any moment, instantly.
How long does a radar last?
You choose at creation: 1, 3, 5 or 7 hours. Web guest sessions are shorter, up to 3 hours. When time runs out, sharing shuts off by itself — nothing to remember.
Does it work on the Lock Screen?
Yes, with the app installed. On iOS a Live Activity keeps your target on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island — name, distance, direction, time left. On Android a persistent notification does the same job, with a Stop sharing action inside it. The guest web view doesn't offer Lock Screen reading.
What do the others see about me?
Only your temporary name, your colour, your last shared position, its accuracy and your presence state — and only inside that group. No real name, no history, nothing that survives the session.
Do I need an account?
No. Access is anonymous by default. Linking Apple or Google is optional — it makes your groups and purchases recoverable across devices, and it's required only before buying credits.
Can friends join without the app?
Yes. The QR opens an essential radar in the browser: they join with a temporary name, share the browser's GPS position, and see the group and the meeting point. Lock Screen reading and fine UWB/Bluetooth precision need the app.
How accurate is it?
It depends on the environment and the hardware, and Fradar tells you instead of pretending: every signal carries its real accuracy. GPS gives the big picture and can drift among buildings and crowds. Up close, Bluetooth ranging works across iPhone and Android, and ultra-wideband tightens distance and direction on compatible phones. It gets you near — the last metre is yours.
Is the map required?
No. The radar is the main view; the map stays optional during the active group, for those who want an extra geographic reference. To find each other, rings, distance, and direction are enough.
What if my invite ends up in the wrong hands?
Regenerate it. Every radar can rotate its QR, invite code, and link at any time — the old invite dies instantly, and whoever already joined stays in. Share invites only with people you actually want on the radar.
What do credits cost?
A radar costs 18 credits per participant per hour — a 3-hour radar for 6 people is 324 credits. Packs of 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 credits never expire; prices are shown by your store at checkout. Guests always join free, and there's a free tier (2 participants, 1 hour, up to twice a week) to try it for real. While Fradar is in beta, payments are off.
What happens to my data when it ends?
The session is built to switch itself off. Expired or revoked radars — positions, memberships, meeting points, beacons — are deleted automatically, normally within about 20 minutes. Details in the privacy policy.
Does it drain my battery?
Fradar adapts instead of hammering: contexts tune update rates and radar range to the venue, and battery saver slows everything down gracefully when your phone is running low. A radar is also time-boxed by design — it never runs longer than the session you chose.
